thiking of getting a pod filter for my 1986 st162 with the 3sge engine, but sounds easier to get just a flat panel k&n filte. already got exhaust done with cannon muffler and new hot dog etc,

wats ur thoughts on air?

ne other cheap power boosting mods i can do?

hks turbo bolt on's start at 4g's still using factory auto.

pods are a waste of time and $$'s - get a decent panel filter and duct air into the airbox..

get extractors , if you want the next power upgrade but dont think its going to be a huge increase over what you have

HKS bolt on kits are a waste of money - you could get a st185 motor in thatc ar for the same sort of dollars AND have a motor thatc an handle boost more competently

As for small meets - not till after new years

Pods sounds nuts, but i think you will find that you will have more of a performance improvement with a decent panel filter in a airbox rather than just taking in the hot engine air.

pods are a huge waste of time and money UNLESS you go to the effort of properly boxing them in ..

panel filters flow just as much or moreso than pods - and dont have to suck in hot air from the engine bay ( pods are susally left exposed for the noise)

In a box with ducting to draw hot air from outside they are good - BUT to do so is a shitload more expensive than putting in a K and N panel filter - then using some creative ducting work with pvc pipe of flex hose ..

gimme a month or so and ill show you how mine was done on the GT4

Hrm, okay sure.

What kind of power gains will you see with cold air induction? for example, what kinda gains would ya getout of a stock GT4 with a panel filter and cold air intake? Anyone know?

Oh and sorry for sorta hijacking the thread. I have a tendancy of doing that.

cool, i just invest in k&n panel filter. by the way i get extractoprs soon as well due to exhaust manifold problems.

also going to lower my car myaber max 1.5inches with stock wheels since the hotdog fucken scraps on everything already at stock height and soemtines my front spoiler. who esle lowered st162 and what has happened?

To answer ur q on lowering - dont do it. Your springs are probably saggin atm anyway so ur car will probs be at that when lowered, if not lower. Lowered King Springs were gonna drop mine bout 30mm at each corner from where it was, saggin like a grannys tits too. Put in standard hieght uprated coils n a good set of shocks n u wont know the car. If u have the extra dosh also get a rear sway bar.
