I have just purchased a ae82 corolla with a 4ac engine. I would like to convert to a 4ag head using webers and was wondering what needs to be done to fit a 4ag head onto the 4ac bottem end. I have heard the blocks are the same, what about cam belt tensioners etc. where do I get a weber manifold, any info would be appreciated.

you cant fit a 4age head to a 4ac block, and expect your pistons to last very long...
4ac pistons only have 2 valve cutouts.
4age pistons have 4.
the extra 2 valves per piston, will open, and probably hit the top of the 4ac piston, bend the valves, and probably do some sort of damage to the piston.
if you want 4age power in your ae82, then put a 4age in it.
hope that helps

a 4AGE FWD motor should only cost about $300 anyhow so it is already a pretty cheap exercise

thanks for the reply, i was just curious as I was told it was easy to do. piston change is no big hassle but, yeah just buy a 4age and carb would probably be easier and cheaper. Any one know where to get a carb manifold to suit?
