has anyone had any experience with these computers. my car is running really rich and i want to lean it up a lil bit.
how do i do it safely when tuning it off a laptop? what parts do i modify and by how much?
or do i just stick the laptop into the ecu and drive around for a few days and let the ecu self tune itself.
basically whats happening is when i'm crusing the car tends to jerk around a lil bit.
all help would be greatly appreciated

Basically, you'll need the hand controller, or much preferably the laptop, a wide band AFR meter and some time. Cruise mixtures always need to be set on the road, not the dyno, and doing it is basically a matter of patience and judicious fiddling.

yeah. well i basically know that.
do i get someone else to drive the car while i punch in new fuel mixture levels? until i get the car running smooth?
info like that is what i need. and where on the laptop program i actually do the tuning.

Yeah, you really need 2 people and a nice quiet piece of road. My suggestion is to download/install the software on your PC at home first, and spend a while learning it backwards. Learn the shortcut keys, where to put stuff in, etc. The guys at AEMS (that make wolf stuff) are pretty helpful, and with a few days of playing around at home, you should be able to learn your way around the software fairly well. At least that's what I do!

And aim for a target af ratio of about 15.5:1 firstly, run that for 6months then go a tad leaner if your keen and its a newer generation engine.

The best thing is to go for a cruise on the hwy/freeway with almost no stops. Then as one person drives the other starts to play with the fuel maps.
I wouldn't play with the maps with the load settings over 50% as this will most likely affect your performance rather than cruising. After mine was set on the dyno i had the same problem that i seem to be running alittle rich. Mine didn't have any jerking though. I would recommend you getting touch with hitman. He did my economy tune and didn't try to rip me off, or over chrge for the service. He's in sydney. Mobile is 0417259391
ring after the new year as i was getting him to do some of work for me and he told me he will not be doing nything until after the new yr.

btw.. i noticed that your in Rockhampton? that's up in QLD right? I think Hitman does interstate also so just give him a call to see.
Another thing make sure you make a saving of your map.

well. i went over to my friends house today and got him to plug in his laptop and he went over it and tried his map (sr20det), but that didn't work.
so we loaded mine on again and we both went for a drive and he reckons without solid dyno time it's the best i'm going to acheive. and even how it is he reckons it's actually preety good.
so this coming from a friend and not a mechanic that i can't trust i feel a lot better now.

Hey, Haven't got my book infront of me but another thing that could be causing the jerking is Fuel cut coming on an off. Try adjusting the Fuel cut up abit "Higher Vacuum". Another is that it could be to far advanced, or to lean. Let me know how you go coz im in the process of setting my Wolf up.
