GA61 Suspension

This next year i'll be looking at upgrading my GA61 Celica XX's suspension (it's getting a bit worn out anyway!). Should I be looking for a specific type, or just MA61 parts?
Should I turn to Whiteline for parts or someone else?
Thanks.

MA61 parts will work in your GA61... they're getting harder to find locally though!

Speaking of which ....
It looks like the 1JZ has seriously lightened the front of my 61 - which was already riding a bit high cuz of the camber/castor adjusters. Now looks like it's ready for take off!
Anyway, I have Lovells front & back - which were great (and cheap). Might have to look at Whiteline's lowering progressive springs, to drop a couple or three of inches off the height. But, according to their product guide, they don't make springs for 61s at all!
So, anyone bought Whiteline springs for their 61? How much height did it scrub? D'you know the order/part no.?
Ta muchly,
Justin

They are $160 a pair from whiteline and there are two sets
#80093
#80097
and
#84602
#84606
I have no idea between the sets the difference.

Just spoke to Whiteline, and the 80093/97 combo is their "Control" range spring and will lower teh car between 25 to 40mm, whereas the 84602/6 is the "Flat Out" range and will lower the car about 50mm.
The guy that knows about the actual spring rates is not back until tomorrow - Wayne is his name.
They also have sway bars - Front : BTF76 (27mm dia) - $214 ea, and Rear : BTR21 (18mm dia) - $172 ea

Thanks guys,
I Emailed their tech guy about using the flat-outs to bring my 747 nose down. I'll letcha know what response I get.
Michael - I was going to get that front swaybar last month - but Paul P. pointed out some of the problems he had installing his (it's not a good fit). Though maybe if I have to take it to a suspension shop for new front springs ...

FWIW Kings also have a range of springs for MA61's. I have the Lows and the car is plenty low now, although I don't know how much lower it's supposed to be than standard (at least 50mm I'd say). Apparently they also have Super Lows, but they must be ridiculous!

Mmm, more food for thought. I'll look into the Kings' range. I'm guessing that I need to come down by around 50-60mm over standard (which I didn't have before - Lovells). I don't know how those super-low show car springs would handle though - seems they're made for cars that don't leave the showroom floor. I just want to bring my nose outa the sky .

Hey Norbie & Jaze: did you have the same problem with the lighter JZ engine transplant? I really wasn't expecting it to be that much lighter!

Paul Pyyvaara had a set which he promptly swapped for a set of lows. From what he tells me they're far from practical and made the car handle like crap!
I can't say I've noticed my car's nose reaching for the sky, but the 2JZ is probably a bit heavier than the 1JZ. My ginormous cooling block probably weighs the nose down a bit as well!

It is hard to decide on springs, I want a little lower, but not as low as Norbs !!
I still have to get through the engineering checks......
Kings seem to be the go, but I want to check out what the various spring rates are first

Kings Lows are street legal, otherwise I wouldn't have bought them.

Yup !!!!!
$125 per pair and $25 delivery from Melbourne to Adelaide.
When I rang Qld to get the specs, the normal retail price is $180 per pair.
Would you get a set for that price as well ? I can ask ?
Cheers
