EMS ecu users???

Hi,
I wish to talk with anyone that has used a EMS ecu on a GZE. I am having some serious tunning problems with the engine not idling below 1400rpm and using way too much fuel. There seems to be a lot of sensors that arn't hooked up to the computer and was wondering if they are needed or not.
Any help would be greatly apreciated(??)
Cheers

Thanks for the reply Siktoy ra23,
One of the sensors on my car that isn't connected is the 02 sensor on the extractors. This generally helps the engine at idle ( I think ). Is it connected to your loom. Just wondering if the computer uses the data.
Also, who do you get to tune your car. I am in SE QLD and no one wants to touch my car due to lack of knowledge of EMS. If I could talk to the guy that does your car, then they may know someone around Brisbane or the Gold Coast that could help me out.
Cheers

Im not running to 02 sensor it doesn't need it unless you buy the proper bosh one but at $350 don't bother.
The best tuner is sydney is dyno dave at premer auto center at mt druitt where the dyno day is at the number there is 02 9832 1650 they might have a tune that they can send up to you.

i don't know about the new stinger etc ems's, but my duel-sport does not use the wide band lambda in any sort of closed loop, it basically acts as a gauge.
As with your problem with high idle, first i would be looking 4 any air leaks, especially around throttle body and inlet tract. Then save a backup copy of the maps in the comp, and have a look at the a/f at idle (if installed) and see if it is lean and adjust accordingly, see how that goes and get back to us with the results.
Also on injectors, what injectors do you have, has the engine only just started to idle high or is this a newly completed conversion. i just had to have an upgrade in the duel-sport to help with idle when using 13b turbo injectors in a 2tg, this is to stop the duty cycle being under 5% when idling hence giving it inconsistent idle and fueling the Eng up.
With talking to someone about the comp, have you tried ems themselves on 02 97561178, else i use Vince Regoli 02 97563413 and i can recommend him, my car came of the dyno from a car that barley idled to drive away without him needling to touch up when we went for a blast up the street.
Both of these are in Sydney which is a bit far away but if u need help, u need help.
Good luck dude.

To tell you the truth, I don't have a clue how to look through the computer maps and am worried I might do some damage. The previous guy to me installed the engine and it has never quite idled properly. It would sit around 1100rpm and rev up and down 2-300rpm. When I got the car the top mount wasn't installed and there was no intercooler (at the time I didn't know about the engine and the need to intercool it, stupid yes).
I eventually fitted a supra intercooler (front mount) and this didn't help the car one bit. Sure i feel safer running it to the red line but when I come to stop, if I disengage the clutch from above 2000rpm the engine will just die in the arse everytime and some times under 2000rpm. I should be able to give the car a rev (parked) and the see the enginme move into a smooth idle around 900rpm, right?? Hell 1000rpm is fine with me.
I still don't understand why the engine needed to be run soo rich. I am getting around 300kms to the tank. Thats just mad.
I really want to know if it is something that isn't hooked up properly (my problem to fix) or it is the case of incompitant tunners (their problem, trust me )
Thanks for the ideas fellas, I will try to work logically through it
Cheers

As far as I know there is no one in the brisbane/GC area that tunes EMS's. So I would definitely be getting in contact with someone from down South. You should probably do a bit of research on manually tuning the thing yourself first. But it certainly seems like you have a problem that needs fixing with fuel consumption like that out of a 1.6L!
