hey all, l wanna get some advice from you guys in "the know" before l waste $400 on some springs, l want to know whats a good option for aftermarket springs using standard shocks for a "aus spec" standard Sprinter. l just wanna spend minimal $$ but be able to use these springs with better struts/shocks in the future. What are my options? custom springs, king springs, pedders springs? or even to compress, not cut the originals. Your help on this matter would be appreciated as l hate driving a 4WD 86 and would prefer one on its ASS!

I suggest you have a search through the forums, and you'll likely find loads of info,as we've covered this many a time in the recent past.
if you are after "the look",I can't help you,as I drive my car,I don't "Kruze" it. if you want to just make it lower for appearance's sake, any springs and cheap shocks will do. it'll ride like crap regardless,so it doesn't matter what you fit.
if you want to make it handle properly, and sit a bit lower, you need to spend money, and do some thinking about what you want to set the car up for. Whiteline offer a decent setup for average-driving cars. if you plan to do more suspension mods later, don't buy any cheaper shocks than konis. the KYBs they offer as the cheap alternative are no better than GT gas monroes you can buy from auto one.
good luck,
Justin...

Well I can personally say that the pedders springs for the ae86 (least the ones I got anyway!) were nothing to get excited about. For one thing, they say HIGHER than the stock ones! From what I can gather about you, that'd put you off right away
In my opinion, I'm quite happy with the whiteline kit - sure its not 'maaaaaaaaaate' low, and not racetrack hard, but for street use its great, in that it goes round corners reasonably well, without falling down every pothole/driveway or doing your dental plan any damage.
Personally I don't like 'sik mate' low cars, I like it lower than stock, but still usable! I also can't stand cut springs. Still, that's my opinion, and nobody said it was right...

well l too like driveable cars with really good suspension setup but the AE86 l have recently bought is a daily driver only and l live 5mins from work, l'm also saving up $$$ for an end of year trip so "the look" is all l'm after for the moment, till next year when l spend some serious $$ on her. l think l'll just go for the king springs and fit them myself.
