i have a ta23 that im putting a 18rgeu in. ive rushed in and lowered the engine about 25mm on the mounts but am now sitting back and thinking is it legal. Looking at the crossmember you cant physically see that it has been modified so will they know and is it legal to do.

When I was researching lowering the engine in a escort the responce I got was, "So long as nothing is closer than 100mm to the ground then it is fine". Not sure if it is correct but so long as nothing fowles the crossmember and the sump is in no danger of being hit then all should be fine.

as long as you have ground clearance and Xmm between any part of the engine and any thing not part of the engine (ie chassis, crossmember, steering etc) then will be fine. check with an engineer as to what X is.
