Maybe I'm growing old and grumpy, but that looks fake to me.
Did anyone see a puff of smoke from the car off the line? Plus the car seems to catch it after a while, but after that they stay level...

i dunno - i had this discussion with a bloke at work as well, and we sat and watched the vid a couple of times.. I tried pausing the video a few times just at the very start, and although it isn't very clear, if you look closely i reckon you can see the scooter rider lift his left leg up from the ground (ie. as you would on take-off). To me it looks like the scooter owns the car off the mark, but the car definitely reels it back in after a while..
And Joshtix - I don't know about the car being a '98 version of what the Gemini became. From what i've read elsewhere:

Its been edited big time.
The white lines and crap are evidence of that.
Watch the car at the start of the "drag"... it takes off and is very quickly up to the goped. Then it kinda flikers a bit and suddenly, the car is a good few meters behind.

That's nothing compaired to the one I saw at Shepparton for the Spring Nats last year. It had an engine twice the size as that and it had huge go cart wheels on it and the guy was sitting there doing burn outs. I've got a photo of it somewhere at home.
