Has anyone fitted the whiteline adjustable front swaybar for AE86 part no BTF35Z, i fitted it to my car today and when i took it for a drive the tyre fouls on the bar when approaching full lock in either direction. Has anyone else experienced this?

I had the exact same problem with the adjustable whiteline bar for my RA28.
The non-adjustable type was fine but adjustable rubbed on the wheels in 3/4 or so lock. Which made driving almost impossible.
Anyhow, talked to whiteline and explained the problem. They had to change the design slightly for the bar and sent me another one out at no cost. Hope this helps.

Hi Shane,
I was planning on getting one of those for my sprinter - what size tyres do you run?

That was the sam combo i was running too.. I'm guessing the bar was designed with the stock 14" wheels in mind.
The new one they made for me follows a much similar shape to the original bar and not just that 90 degree bend like their off the shelf adjustables.

jeez ass these things are bastards to fit, the instructions are a joke just a photocopy of a crappy photograph that is totally illegible, you basically have to guess which way in the link go together, and it fouls the caliper on full lock! the guy at the brake place wouldnt even fit new hoses because he didnt want to be responsible if they broke! argh! im gonna call them and request decent instructions!! this is the adjustable for AE86

I bought one about 2-3 months ago, and instructions were a photocopied page with 2 black almost unrecognisable photos. Caused me to swear and throw them in the bin.
I currently have the stock rims at the moment (due to the tyres on my 7" 15's (-20 offset) rubbing on the coilover) and i dont have any issue with tyres rubbing on the bar on full lock. Still yet to try it with wider rims though .

ok here is the result and my story:
I installed the Front whiteline adj swaybar, and a brake place refused to install new brake hoses because they were worried the swaybar would foul them, they also noted that the tyres rub the swaybar at full lock.
I rang whiteline and they said to return the bar to them, they investigated and found mine was current spec, so they gave me the option of having the same one sent back or to change it for a fixed swaybar which uses the original mounts and isnt as chunky as the adj one, so i got a fixed one as the adj one obviously wasnt working with my car.
He said they sell this design adj swaybar all over the world and havent had any issues, so if you too are having issues please contact whiteline at Head Office and they should help you out, their service was fantastic and im a happy customer even though i now have a fixed item, i dont care i wasnt going to be adj here and there anyway
*edit, so in the end no exact reason to why i was having fouling problems, maybe something just might be amiss in the front end.

Wow, didn't know that there were that many fitment issues with the ae86 and the whiteline adjustable swaybars.
If anyone is interested I'd be more than willing to take some photos and post up a short write-up - I installed mine about 3 weeks ago with (almost) no issues.
It ended up I got one rear body bracket that had a weak set of threads, when I went to tighten down the threads came loose from the main part of the stud/shaft and just squeezed out like a spring. It's the weirdest thread failure I've ever seen.
