I pretty much emptied my ma70's engine bay apart from the block the other day, and have come to notice a ;arge space down next to the bottom of the radiator on the d/s of the car, where two oil cooler pipes go through.
So im off to buy a piece of 80mm pvc pipe and some bends and a tin of black gloss paint to direct airflow past my headers hence cooling them, and blowing the air down the trans tunnel. I will get some pics when its complete, but i cant see it being too far away.
Its also being done on either side of my ma61 to cool down the pair of extractors with accompanied bonnet vents. Hence i got the idea for one on my ma70 after i saw how easy it is.
Can i get someone to host the pic i took of its location?
ya could make it a bit easier and use a red arrow... but i guess that would be too smart for monkey boy over there..
You reckon its the same for the ma61 ? the best option i have found runs behind the wheel arch skin (next to air filter) straight down to behind the front bar mounts.. or somewhere in there... pitty the air filter would be in the way..
80mm you say... thats a big whole... im off to find it
you wont find it on an ma61...trust me i have two empty engine bays 1m apart..they are very different, holes cut in front panels is the only way on a 61...as i said i have to make 2 in mine (one for each extractor)!
You are lucky enough on an ma70 to have space next to oil cooler lines and shit that runs from the front of the car to the engine. I actually found some 90mm pipe in the shed, so i spose ill have to settle for it
I'll get pics of it finished before too long...Am doing it before she goes back on the road.
If you're wanting a good mod for ma61 cooling, come over and ill show you what i made for the front a/c fan..you can manage to fit a 12" flat body in there no problems! Just gotta weld a bracket...Im also cutting vents in my bonnet similar to a 69 e-type jag.
