4AGE Idle Speed Problem with A/C

I have a problem with the Idle speed dropping when the Air Con is activated causing the car to stall. The car is an AE82 86 model (AFM). Somebody mentioned it may need a new idle speed motor. I don't even know if they have an idle speed motor or some kind of valve (maybe the motor controls the valve??). In the Haynes manual a code 11 trouble code is related to the A/C switch signal. Would this indicate that the A/C unit is not sending the signal to the ECU? I have never used these fault codes to check anything, is it worth trying. Has anyone had a similar problem and got to the bottom of it.
Is it likely it will need a new valve or motor?
I've had the car for almost 3 years and I always turn the A/C off when i come to the lights..suddenly started to annoy me and too cheap to pay to get it fixed. Thanks..any input would be great

I tried to attach a photo. Is the check engine connector this spare connector located near the ignition coil. i.e the clear yellowish looking one to the left of the green connector.
Thanks - hope the photo comes through.

Theres a little vacuum switch which should be over the very back left hand side of the engine bay... if this is buggered or one of the lines to it is blocked your idle up will not work...
I got a new old one from pickies for about $2
PS nearly all of them are the same along the toyota range... different cars have different brackets but you can use your existing brackets

Thanks heaps Toobs. I found what I think you were talking about (sitting in car left hand side, is that it? That's where I found it anyway). Mine had a screw type adjuster on the top. All I had to do was unscrew it a bit to allow a greater vacuum in the pick up tube and the revs went up. I don't know if yours has the same system...but does that sound like the part you were talking about?
I can hear quite a bit of air around now since I opened that valve up a bit , do you think that is normal. Couldn't really find leak in line.
Happy holidays!

The screw that needs to be turned has a spring on it, if thats the one you turned then youve found it.
Sometimes they can get dirt and grime into them which will affect the way it works.
