What would be the best engine oil option for a freshly rebuilt 3S-GTE? And how much would be needed? Would I go for Synthetic straight up?

is this after u run it in your talking about ?
or u still need to run it in ?
if u wanna run it in...definetely dont use synthetic
they actually have special running in oil u can buy
or if u couldnt be fucked with that.....just use a mineral oil....then run it in properly
but as i said dont go synth for running in'

If your just talking about normal oil for everyday use I use Penrite HPR15... goes in and comes out almost the same colour... never seem to burn much... no need to refill between changes
Its a semi synthetic

You raise a good point with running-in oil... I hadn't considered this. It would be best to do this first I think. What is there for running-in and how long should the run-in process go for?

in regards to how to run-in.....i investigated this VERY briefly ages ago...
and i remember things like never hold it for too long at a certain RPM....ie: highway drivng
dont thrash it straightaway
take through the gears on gentle throttle....low RPM
then a bit more throttle....more RPM
etc
etc
however research on how to properly run-in a rebuilt engine...cause im sure there are many others things to worry about
it also depends on what was replaced on the rebuild
also if you;re REALLY obsessive ive heard of ppl getting there engines dyno run-in...which would be perfect....obviuosly at a place that knows what they;re doing

Thanks for the info dude. Getting it dyno-run-in would be ideal I guess... but this would probably cost a heap to do too.
