does this work ? RA65 struts complete with brakes, bolt onto the bottom ball joint etc into a ta23, or do I have to change the ball joint to suit the RA65 strut too ?
I think the strut hieghts are different too

Yes it works if you just swap the strut. The ball joint is attached to the steering arm, you don't swap that bit, just the strut. Unfortunately you'll end up with positive camber though so if you want your car to handle you'll have to find some way of solving that problem, eg longer control arms.

not sure about the RA65 struts, but i think they are similar to the TT142 struts.
these do bolt in to a certain extent.
you realy need to grab as much of the connecting stuff as possible as (mine are all based on an RA28 fittings)the arms adn a few other conecting bits are differant but interchangable.
in teh end i went with the RT132/pug/hilux set up ass this is even more of a bolt in affair(with a bit of drilling)adn yields a bigger brake set up.
have a look in teh archives of the classic celica yahoo list.
im sure someone has posted about this (RA65 struts into 23/28)
before....
cheers,
Dom

Or you could just go to my web site. I have a few pics of MA61 struts (much the same as RA65) bolted up to my RA23:

ok, so are the struts longer ? is that what causes the positive camber ? I have just fitted the 1ggte and it weighs more so would this help anywhere with more weight etc ?
I just thought if they bolt in relatively easy then sweet, cos they have 11" vented rotors.
how easy would it be for you to reproduce those mounting brackets for the supra calipers ? would you do it for a price ?

Not sure if the length is different, but the camber difference comes from the angle of the stub axle which is different on A6 struts.
As for the bracket, it's basically a flat piece of steel with 4 holes drilled into it. Anyone with a RA2x strut and RA6x caliper could reproduce it with ease. No I can't be bothered pulling my brakes apart right now.
