1978 Carina sedan

I've inherited this UK model from my aged Mum. (She's bought a new Echo, but I wouldn't allow a trade-in.) The body is in A1 condition with no rust. It's an auto trans with a 2T engine which runs well but needs new main bearings. I would like to do it up as a show car. Can anyone advise whether the 2T can be reconfigured for unleaded fuel? [I don't seem able to attach a pic but will get round to posting a link.]

Nuh! a 3T-GTE would cost what? $5000? Since I already have the ideal wagon for burning off larrikins (a 3-litre turbo Humber), I'm content to keep (and spruce up) the 2T.
Btw, apols about the pic bandwidth. I dropped down to 23kB without seeing any difference. There are some more pics on the site at [URL]http://members.tripod.com/brianjenkins/carina.html[URL]
