first experience with drifting Mon, 05 January 2004 02:48 Go to next message
yesterday, a group of mates had hired out the skidpan for the day to practise driving and drifting. It was a great day with one car over heating (driver fault) and no other broken bits.

After watching decent drivers trying to drift it really makes you appreciate some of the videos i have seen. (HPI etc.) I didn't have a go of driving just sat in the passenger seat but it definitely is fun. I don't think it is for me though. Just seems to put too much stress on the car which a lot of revs and slow speeds not to mention the driveline.

I will stick to drag racing for the time being and might even get a drift/circuit sprint car later on.

Anyway, just sharing my experiences Smile

also, have pics if anybody wants to see them?

Drifting on a skidpan puts way less stress on your car than drag racing...

Yeah it's pretty fun..

You really need a bit of time to adjust to the skidpan though.. like when you're going sideways and sideways and it stops feeling like you're going sideways so you think you have to adjust more, and mess it up, over and over. heh.

Oh yeah, i know that drag racing stresses the driveline. It is just that i don't really trust my car going quick around corners yet. Smile
