3S series blocks Mon, 05 January 2004 13:30 Go to next message
Can anyone tell me the differences between the 3S blocks, like if there's any bolt pattern change for the head, etc? For example, how is a 3S block made to mate-up to a GE head, different to one made to mate-up to one with an FE head?

Andrew,

I can only guess but say they would be different between the Generations.

eg.

3SGE Gen 1 would be different to Gen 3 etc.
No idea about FE to GE differences.

But I 'm guessing !

Cheers
Tim.

AFAIK the blocks (at least for the earlier Gens) are pretty much the same. i've heard that the later model FE's (ie your Rav 4) has a hole for a knock sensor. i'm not sure if ST205 stuff will bolt up to the FE engine (i've got the oiling system from a ST205 so i hope it will fit on my FE.
