Conversion Questions???

I've been thinking about this for awhile now,and i think it's time to put my questions to rest rest and find out from the techies whether this will work or not.
I wannna turbo my existing 3sge engine in my mr2,basically just for a lil extra power that's all.so i will only be running 6-8psi max.
So if i get the mr2 turbo's exhaust/turbo manifold, the turbo, the 2bar map sensor and the original mr2 turbo factory ecu, this should be all i need, and a small intercooler as well.
My main question is,i've heard the ecu's are swappable cauz the ecu plugs are the same the only problem being the fuel pump, which requires some fancy wiring to get it operating correctly. So if the ecu's could be swapped and wired to work properly then this should work, shouldn't it?????
Cheers Adrian

what is the compression ratio on the 3sge? As it will be higher than the 3s-gte, i wouldn't think you would want the same tune as the 3s-gte. So you could decompress it or get a programmable computer and get it tuned well.
Personally, I would just do a 3s-gte swap or sell your car and buy a turbo one, but i guess that isn't what you want to hear :0

bass is right
dont watse time pullin things off and on to make yr engine turbo
its easier and prob only abit more expewnsive in the end
the fuel pump wiring is easy to fix

people put low boost turbos and manifolding off 200SXs/GTiRs onto NA SR20s running the NA computer with shining results apparently. never done it myself or know anyone, just seen it a few times on the net.
maybe it's a similar deal for the 3SGE? i mean, if you're only running 5-6psi it would prob lean out the overly rich factory mixtures at WOT.
i'd say give it a shot, just keep your old manifolding and stuff if it doesn't work so you can bring it back to original and sell it for a turbo one.

Ok thanks guys, but WILL it work. This will be a fair bit cheaper then going a half-cut and then paying through the roof for the labor.
Ecu-should be around $250-$300
Manifold/turbo 400-500
Map sensor ???
Interrcooler i already have and i can get the plumbing done piss cheap.
As with the wiring,i'll just go through the wiring diagrams, identify the differences with the pinouts and wire them up accordingly.
