Incorrect RPM Readings Fri, 09 January 2004 16:08 Go to next message
Hi Wasup.

A friend of mine just did a very clean 89 afm twincoil 4agze swap in a 91 ee-90 corolla. Now the only apparent problem is the the rpm readings are incorrect, seems as if its reading in half, and because of the the engine check light is constantly on cause the car to stall allot... We tried a new Knock Sensor same problems ??

Any Ideas.

Your quick and Immidiate responces will be highy Anticipated.
Thanks in Advance

Will go down to the shop and try and get the codes......... As for boosting the signal from the igniter, can you give me a more detailed way of doing this.

There is a melbourne based company that make and sell tacho boosters for applications just like yours.... They have posted on this site recently (~last 3 months)

Use the search feature and look for "tacho booster" ;p
