they said I was mad.. well who's mad now?! *evil cackle*
yes, anyhow. thanks to the expertise of sideshow today, the engine cranked over. it was REALLY unhappy about it.. probably something to do with all the auxiliaries disconnected, most of the intake piping missing, and the Oxygen sensor not being connected, plus that hole in the exhaust 
but other than that, I'm pretty happy. still more work to go... but things are looking up in terms of making it to the dyno day

congratulations mate! Been a big ol jobbie for ya! 
can't WAIT till dyno day! I just bought an awesome socket set at a garage sale for $35! woohoo all chrome vanadium or whatever from like 30mm to 3mm I am stoked! (my happiness for the day anyway )
