 HELP!!! BIG NOISE IN 2ND GEAR

Hey fellas my mate lent me his car while he has gone on holiday its a stock ae92 sx 100kw, while i was driving the other day i decied to have fun and punch it and at about 6k i change into second and there was a big **CLUNK** and the gb felt stiff, but it only happens in 2nd and when going fast, if i drive normal theres on noise. ANYONE KNOW WHAT IT IS!!!
Oh and if it helps the clutch was changed about 3mths ago PBR heavy duty

sounds like the syncros on 2nd are wearing out. If you are giving it heaps you'll just have to put a slight pause when changing from 1st to 2nd.
Fairly common problem on cars that are driven hard.

From your description of the symptoms, it is impossible to know what is going on. Therefore it is impossible to give you a price on how much it will be to fix it.

but in mean time, it might be prudent to:
-dump the oil out of the gearbox
-swill a few gallons of desiel thru it (fill, move gearstick around, dump liquid then repeat a few times) to remove old oil & shit
-replace with h/duty oil and moly additives to reduce gear wear
-get very drunk pondering whether to tell mate what you've done, or
-put a postive spin on it... " your syncro was starting to make noises so i gave the gearbox a freshen up with some better oil to make it last - all you need to do is learn to double-clutch"
