Police stupidity Mon, 12 January 2004 03:38 Go to next message
As most of you know i currently have a 1990-1991 Lancer GSR 4 sale which is owned by my gf..... anyway took the car out on friday night towards the city. On my little friday night cruise 2 cocky police officers decided to give me a RBT..... after i recieve the royal rbt test the police officer asks to "open the hood" i pop it open he has a sticky beak with his torch then realises that the chasis number on the firewall is different to the one on the compliance plate and the chasis number on the left side tower is same to the one on the compliance plate.... now if you know you cars you would know that the numbers on the firewall are the engine numbers. Mitsubishi put them there 2 try and make life easy...... police officers both suspect the vehicle is a number job and issue me with a defect paper and a nice fine and impoundment on the vehicle till the situatiuon is sorted out....... next day i rock up at the station where the car is kept and explain my numbers and show them the log book all officers are stuned and release my car and drop the fines and defect. If only i had the log book on me that nite...... Talking about police stupidity & RBT's...

This morning I was out for a walk & saw the police set up an RBT unit in a clearway!!! It sure created one hell of a traffic jam...

but slower traffic is much safer for the officers who are out on the road signalling cars in.

and also they can have more discression when choosing cars to come in for BT when they are slower.
