camber on ta22 Mon, 12 January 2004 08:01 Go to next message
anyone got any ideas how to get about 5 deg neg camber on a ta22???
i did the mx62 brake upgrade and ive got about 5 deg positive camber and yes i have tried to roll it out, it seems that the stub axle on the mx62 is at a more obtuse angle to the strut that the stocko ta22.
oh and i dont want to spend any money on adjustable strut tops or nething, i was thinking about just slotting the crossmember to move the control arm out but i dont think that will be enough and theres no room in the strut tower to move there either!

I think its the MX83 control arms that are longer. It might give you a bit less camber, but doubt it'd get rid of 5 deg positive! Even strut tops couldn't get rid of that. I had 1.5 positive and got adjustable tops and was able to dial in 1 deg negative. So really could only adjust it 2.5 deg.

Maybe look at a better brake/strut upgrade with a suitable angle on the stub axle - xt130, nissan s13 etc.

you could try having something like these made up, wouldn't take care of all your problems but would be a start.........

i'd probably just swap my struts though, xt130 struts, even with stock brakes would be a hell of a lot easier. you'd still have positive camber though, your car comes stock with positive camber.

(and kudos to TurboRA28 for originally giving me that link)
