Goto File --> Preferences --> Expert Features
You can tell nero how long the maximum cd length should be, try that.

I had Nero DVD/CD burning software and had no end of problems with it. It even came with the burner, but still would not work properly. Got Roxio Easy CD Creator and find it is real easy to use. Not sure of the cost as this was through work, but I think the full version is $150, but the normal version is about $70.
