hey guys... i really need to increase the performance of the rolla, and since the 1ZZ-FE has a F series head, would it be possible to change this with a sportier head?

and the cost factor involved?

thanks
kris

PS Also would a 3S-GTE fit in that engine bay?
has anyone done this conversion in sydney?
also if they have, do you know how much they payed?

3sgte will not easily fit, and i doubt it would be legal. a 2ZZGE will fit, either out of the current celica or corolla sportivo but because its so knew it will cost you shitloads i can assure you.

interesting...
it may well be possible to put the 2ZZGE head on a 1ZZ,

but.

the fundamental difference between these engines (given that they are both 1.8L) is that the 1ZZ has longer stroke and 'economy head', whereas the 2ZZ is more revvy due to squarer dimensions, and supposedly 'sportier head'

i'd suggest you drive, back to back, a 1ZZFE and 2ZZGE equipped corollas of similar weight, spec etc and then see if it worth the effort...

i dare say it would not help that much, since modern engines are getting pretty high in their efficencies (aiming for 100Nm/L), and about all you can do is move the torque further up in the rev range, or go turbo Wink

anything will fit into anything with a big enough angle grinder, and enough filler wire for the welder Very Happy
