5-stud conversion for KE3x Corolla Tue, 13 January 2004 05:47 Go to next message
Hey Guys,

Does anyone know of a reasonably cost effective and relatively easy way to convert my 4-stud KE55 hub to a 5x114.3 (nee Falcon stud pattern), so I can get some decent mags?

you're a keen been.
i think you'll be on your own for this one..

for the rear, you'd probably use a shortened hilux, or a shortened bogwarmer axle from falcon
or get your axles welded and drilled.

for the front, you will have to change hubs, or get the old ones welded up and redrilled.

then you have the issue of getting the offset correct.

there are plenty of rims available in 4x114.3. all you have to do is take some money to a shop Wink
decent mags (well, alloys, not magnesium Wink ) will usually give you the option of what pattern you want...

panasport/minilite/superlites for example.

i think you'll be paying more for the upgrade than for a decent set of rims for your current stud pattern..

then again, 5 stud would look nice Wink

Well you could kill a few birds with this stone ;p

RA60 Struts w/ AE86 Spring cups welded on (Unless the RA60 items fit).
RA60 Lower Arms (Power steering variety for shorter steering arms for less turns to lock)
RA60 Calipers and Discs redrilled to suit hubs
UZ??? Crown Hubs (5x100, AU Falcon on...)

You will also get the benifit of bigger brakes and a larger stub axle.

Just my 2c, but thats what id do Razz

Oh forgot to mention, the UZ crown (late model w/ 1UZ-FE) is not an aussie delivery. So you will need to source parts from a jap wreckers.

Thanks for the info old corollas and necros it really helped! It gives me something to think about in the future, to make my Corolla just that little bit out of the ordinary. I was considering putting a shortened hilux diff at the rear anyhow, to replace the weaker borg-warner diff.

Only if you have RA60 struts.

in the not too distant future i am going to have some billet hubs made up, basically so i can use ford stud pattern on the front, not sure if there is a 'bolt on' fix for the ke30s

not sure of the physics behind it but personally i wouldnt weld up stud holes and get them redrilled
