on saturday, a few folks suggested willowbank (any T&T would do) but i dont think the food stand there counts as a bbq
but i would like to go up the hill to Mt Tamborine and spend at leat an hour or two in the shade? or walking thru to the falls - which you pass on the way up?
long way: starting at brisbane, heading to coomera then to canungra then to up around to north tamborine before heading south to climb up the mountain via the old road. Return trip via beaudesert and jimboomba or to the hinze dam then back to the motorway.
another way: drive straight there via coomera, have early lunch break, then drive south to beechmont and binna burra to look at wildlife and scenery. return via beechmont then nerang and then up the motorway.
anyway, i'm not leading out unless everyone has a current refadex.

that probably means willowbank, south to fassifern, then across to boonah (or directly from ipswich to boonah), beaudesert, canungra, Mt tamborine - then down to BWCP to get harrased by police/rent-a-cops.
maybe we can checkout the Kalbar car club venue while passing thru fassifern? <http://www.kalbarautofest.com/> 24th jan is next burnout comp - $25/10 entry.
BTW i'll find out what kind of info them sydney folks distribute for cruises...

charles, i like the idea of taking a walk through the mountain/ falls too...if we dont care where we go, there is some magnificient walking tracks out near moogerah - im not sure the mountains name? I'll have to find out, but id like to do this, rather than sit behind the wheel the whole time and there are fire bbqs up there

i would love to come on another cruise but i don't think i will until my Corona is registered. not much point driving around in my cheap car when I have a much better and more satisfying one waiting for me to work on at home.
shouldn't be too long though, went for a safety certificate yesterday and got a bit of stuff to do
So don't go to willowbank until i am finished please!!!!

for walking/looking i actually prefer wet, humid rainforest stuff, rather than dry schelophyl (rain)forests.
But for spirited driving, open plains and sweeping low hills are great, but when i stop, i prefer shade, quiet, and if possible - water.
That's why i like the idea of heading thru the hills to mt tamborine, binna burra, orielly's, springbrook, natural arch, even the old lions road, etc
but - i'm easily pleased , just tell me where to point the bonnet...

Hey charles, shane and me were talking about this the other day, and I think that if me, you, shane, phil, and blake (and anyone else that wants..) organize it mainly ourselves (i.e. work out routes / times / activities) so that everyone else knows whats going on (everyone else is welcome to contribute / make decisions as well!). Also a little meeting with everyone in the morning just to make sure everyone knows whats going on!
I just think that with a bit more organization it would be more relaxing...not trying to tell ppl we don't want input by any means, just that if we actually had ppl who were organizing it / know whats going on would be better!
Cheers

wildy OT but does anybody know who the dude with the orange/gold RA28 hatch was? or his handle on these (or other) forums? like me, he runs an 18R turbo!
anyway, the point of this was that he mentioned a name of a multi-fit 85 amp alternator that would drop into my beast. he said the case is very similar to old iron Fords - hence the 'multi-fit' tag.
as i've obvioulsy forgotten his name and the product name, can someone point me in the right direction? or give me a name? (and no it wasn't bosch)
since the aircon got fixed (a second time), if i have both thermo fans running, headlights, aircon and radio going, i get about 9 volts at idle (at dash guage) so i think its struggling
tia, charles.

i'm locked in to see LOTR 3 on thursday nite (is hard getting a gold class ticket when you're slack about ringing up to book) - but any other nite would be OK.
as for venue, i'm fine with the roma street parklands - at the distant car park or near the cafe/waterfall thing? byo food/drink/maps?

shane we didnt end up doing much re the cruise...sorta got caught up finding a relay that would run my fans! Supercheap had a labled one as a 5 different pin, but the lying pricks they are, it is only active as a single action relay. I.e effectively a 4 pin!!! Waste of another $10

Some of my mates and i just did a skid pan day out at mount cotton...
3 x AE86 (Aus spec)
1 x AE86 (Jap Trueno)(AE86 Drift)
1 x RA40 (Silvercil40)
1 x RX7 Series 4
1 x Silvia SR20 non turbo
1 x Commodore of some sort (there all the same anyway)
I think the max people you could take would be 8 as if there
are many more you don't get much track time....
I am gunna try and have at least one a month from now on
though..
