what?
no offense here, but do you even know what you are saying?
why do you want progressive rate springs?
where did you get 6kg/mm from? do you know how hard that is?
i would suggest you call a reputable suspension shop and ask for springs to suit your intended purpose, i regret not doing that.
my custom made springs cost 90 bucks a pair, to give you a ballpark figure.

Go and see K-MAC in rockdale (im pretty sure its Rockdale), tell them what your after and they'll give advise and make em up in 24hrs or less. Ive used them before and ive found them to be most helpfull.
Or you could give Whiteline a call.

I agree man, 6kg is way stiff for a AE86 especially the rear! I've heard they respond well to have the rear springs around 2/3rds the rate of the front.
I have 7kg springs on the front of my RA28 (heavier than an AE86) and its a joke. Maybe ok for a smooth race track but useless around twisty roads.
I'm planning on running 5kg up front and probably 3.5 to 4 or so on the rear.
Anyway thats just IMHO

Yes but if they are progressive the chances are the first inch or so of travel is not that stiff. It is kind of misleading to say progressive rate springs are x\mm when they will change rate through their stroke.
But I know where you are going...........

bit late now, but the regret i have is just wanting to slam my car, and ending up with, less than desireable springs. i'm going to think out my next system, i doubt that springs rates would have much anything to do with cost really, a spring is a spring is a spring, unless you mean they will progress from 4 to 6 kg/mm.
personally i would go no higher than 4kg/mm on the rear, and i will never put progressive rate springs in my car.
hard springs will give you the shits, bouncing all over the road etc isnt any fun at all.

And they are not driving around with boge oils.
Progressive springs are like condoms, both just ruins the feeling.

joel, i have just heard that constant rate springs are better, and i know that hard springs are not good on the street.
i don't mind the discomfort of slighly harder springs, as at the moment i only have about 2 inches of suspension travel, so i kinda have progressive springs anyway.
Also, i have heard it said that most shocks dont work well with progressive springs, just feel that for me there isnt enough of a downside with constant rate springs to justify progressive rate springs.
of course this means that you have to limit shock length, ie you cant use standard length shocks.
