cold start injector and coolant temps...

now that ive fixed my cooling system and the overheating problems, the bloody engine is running ice cold
the thermo switch for the thermo fans isnt working properly, and they are running full time (to be fixed) and the temp gauge on the dash is indicating very cool operating temperatures (was also a cool night)...
the thing is, the engine is loving it! the girl is utterly caining along...
...which is making me wonder, could the cold start injector simply be running all the time given that the coolant temps are low? i cant find any info on how the cold start injector is managed by the toyota ecu: whether its purely a coolant temp related thing, or whether it runs for a given period of time following cold start up...
just curious really as id love to know exactly whats gone on to make the engine come alive so much
guess ill find out when i whack a thermostat in, and fix the fan switch, but id like to know none the less..
cheers

never mind... found the answer:
is purely coolant temp based, with a variable correction factor based on exactly what the coolant temp is. correction factor decreases linearly with temp up to ~60degC, when it stops.
i wonder what my operating temp is atm?? hmmm

ed its interesting that u post this cause my cold start injector seems to be working funny.
in the mornings the car starts 1st fire every time
but if i start the car after driving it, it turns over for longer and once it does fire there is a very rich fuel smell as if the cold start injector was pissing fuel in regardless of engine/water temp.
where does the ecu grab its coolant temp signale from to calculate yes/no CSI?

there is also a 'start enrichment' that occurs regardles of coolant temp, perhaps thats it. theres some decent info in the autoshop101 docs on all of this, ut im at hospi at the moment.
ALSO: i just realised... what i posted above, doesnt necessarily refer to the CSI. i could just be a correction adjustment of the duty cycle of the regular injector cycle. come to think of it, there was no mention of the CSI specifically at all...
