Ok just tot I'd update the progress of the tranplant as I've been flat out this last few months (I used to post as LEVIN2NV).
Anyway, after dummying the engine and gearbox in (finally), the top of the transmission tunnel just after the firewall needed to be cut to allow the series 5 g/box to fit. That has been done and we have also finished the engine mounts.
Will post pics asap.
Btw does anyway know if the Trueno front end conversion is just a bolt on affair? Got someone selling the guards, bonnet, bumper (no Trueno badge), and pop ups (minus the motor and light inserts). I am worried that its missing the Trueno badge and the electricals/motors to operate the pop-ups. He wants $1,100 .... what do you guys think?
"1 x Bonnet (red) with washers
1 x left fender (white) with indicator light
2 x right fender (white, red) with indicator lights and red one has an
antenna
1 x zenki front bumper (black) no indicator lights but sprinter one will fit
fine with Trueno stays which will bolt straight onto a sprinter
1 x pair of pop up lights without the light but you can buy lights from
toyota wreckers
$1100 ono for the whole lot plus freight which was $200 from perth to
melbourne and had insurance and would take about 5 days on road delivered to
your door"
Seems like a good price however by the time you factor in panel beating, painting, labour for fitting, electrical wiring ...
