Found a weird car, i need some info.

Ok my girlfriend has found a car she likes and its for the right price. heres its description:
$1500.00
1988 Toyota Corolla II
2 doors
Pop-up head lights
Front Wheel Drive (not a AE86)
Engine is a 3E
1.5lt, single cam, carby feed, pwr steering and air-con.
Has anybody got any info on this i dont even know what the model is called.

Hi there Charlie. If this is the 'rolla I think it is, it is very rare in Aus. So parts will be hell. The engine and gearbox setup is weird transverse engine front wheel drive. I would not like to try and get parts for it. But hey thats my two cents worth.

theres actually a few getting around near my place.. they look pretty neat actually...
yeah, FWD, 3E motor...
afaik, it is import only, never actually released here.
i think you'll find it's model code is something like
EL4X or EL5X
and is based on a tercel floorpan

Wow thanks alot for the quick help.
The gearbox and engine are from a Tercel and paseo so parts for it wont be to hard i just hope my girlfriend never crashes it
