W40's are very strong. They're popular among the drag rotary crowd because they're tough, cheap and plentiful.

yeah theyre allright but when you give the 4m as much shit as i do they tend to get clunky and mine grinds every time i go in to thirds.

Yeah, like Norbie said, quite strong
They can handle a fairly decent amount of torque, and a fair amount of power.
I had one behind my 6mge for a few thousand kms, worked fine, infac, I've still got it!
But a lot of commodore boy put them behind 253s and 308s with out a hassle
And as the only cost about $50-$100, if it breaks, get another

Would the W40 be a good choice for a turbo 4AGZE application or are there better alternatives?

Umm, I'm no expert with 4a's but i'm guessing that it would struggle with the weight of a mk2
better off with a 7mgte conversion dude

Ahhh, I'm with you now, heehhe
*comes back to planet earth*
Ummm, dunno hey, you'd be better off with a 5spd, like a w50, and I dont know if they even make a bellhousing to suit it.
I think they make a bell.h to suit a W55/6/7/8/9 tho.
But you'll have to wait for someone else to clarify that

There are no 4A -> W40/50 bellhousings. There is a 4A -> W5x bellhousing from the factory, but you won't find one. You can however buy aftermarket ones from Dellows etc. The W5x boxes are much nicer and also lighter so you're better off with one of them anyway.
