in my understanding > yes you dont need that kinda clutch with a t50 behind an engine with at MOST 250 horses and using it will cause issues with the t50
id stick with a exedy heavy duty like im getting
but depends on the power and application your going to be using the car for

Ahhh, the old word TREATMENT rings a bell here! If (like I'm guessing) you've got a 'normal' 4AG, if you show it some respect, it'll last just fine. The only T50s I've seen dead behind NA 4AG's are for 3 reasons:
1. 7800rpm dumps constantly
2. flat shifting
3. no oil in the box(!)
That is of course presuming the box is in SOME kind of order to start with!

Yeah, that's the other thing - there is no NEED to use a puck clutch with an NA 4AG - Direct Clutch can do you a 2500lb pressure plate which will work just fine with a full face clutch, and be easy to drive too. Way back when I had a T50 in my car, I consumed 2 exedy's (each lasted a few days!), then the Direct Clutch one lasted a couple of months, when the T50 died (mine's turbo.) I'd personally recommend this clutch

Please people, try not to destroy your good T50's they are already getting rare and there are plenty of people who have a good use for and wont kill them. Eg Clubman builders

just try the heavy duty pressure plate and maybe just a normal clutch disc. that way you havent lost out altogether. see if that holds up. bit of a hassle changing if it doesnt though..

Yes, do be kind to the world's remaining supply of T50's
And hard? Pfft! It takes about 30 mins to take a T50 out, even less with a hoist!

30 mins out, and how long back in? well then youre talking over an hour there i think, plus i would have to lay on my back to do it, and to me thats a PITA.
either way, we are in agreeance, there is a finite numer of t50s left, especially with alot of clubman dudes trying to steal them all from us so take care. no offence to them, clubmans are awesome.. but theyre ours!

I had the exact same thing in my sprinter, an exedy HD 4 puck.
Heres some advice:
sell it whiles its still in the wrapping, they are a pain the is arse. General driving becomes a pain. It squeeks (brass button), it doesn't slip AT ALL! so you can't hill start or take off without bunny hoping the car.
If its a track car, then its a different story. They are very fun when driven hard, extremely quick pickup etc.

Hmmm, my issue with the exedy 3 puck clutch I had was that it was too EASY to drive! This obviously reflects the pathetic amount of clamp the pressure plate in the kit actually had, and I could do nothing but laugh at the guy who sold it insisting that 'no, no, you must promise you won't bring it back to me because it's undrivable, you do realise it's a racing clutch only...'. That clutch kit lasted 2 days before the slip became bad enough you couldn't even drive to the local shop - and I didn't treat it rough, just applied some turbo torque to it I really can't talk you out of these clutches quickly enough! Oh, and if you don't like lying down, getting dirty, changing a clutch, etc., then you're not much of a car enthusiast are ya
