Mad Alot of people tells me that the LRP petrol nowadays has substance inside it so it slowly eat away the engine or somehow stuff it up.....This may sound stupid. But i need some expert advise on what people think about this. This theory is somewhat holding me back from buying an older leaded engine car.....
because i really want a old corolla for a starter.

hardened valves, guides and seats - will overcome most concernes from LRP - issues with detonation can be addressed by mostly modded timing and/or going to EFI or even simple water injection.

edit: as for conspiracy theory about LRP ? ! they use MTBE and a few other nasty chemicals that probably give you cancer.. but odds are that you'll die in a traffic accident or from cigaretes (intentional or not) way before the petrol gets you...

Or just run premium unleaded, which has the same/better octane than LRP.

And yes stay away from LRP, it's crap.

I pulled out the spark plugs out of my old 5me, which had been running on lrp - they were orange. I was told by a mechanic friend of mine, that my piston tops and valves would look the same. So i changed it straight to pulp...and it went harder, ran smoother and didnt get any of that nasty crap in it.

as some of u may know i run a 79 corona with a 18RG, we also used to have a 85 VK with a 202,
the 202 had to run on super/LRP, so when we got the corona with its 18RC in it I ran LRP, when we changed to RG i used to put in PULP, as this was the best fuel to use.
i sometimes used to get in the car, gas it and it'd run like shit, i even had a go at the tuner Rolling Eyes , turns out my wife was putting LRP into it when i wasnt there, not knowing that even tho it was a older engine, that it now took PULP, silly woman Laughing ,

they should change the name to PRP, power replacement petrol
