3sge + webbers ---> ta22

i want to put a 3sge into my ta22, from looking at the EFI it is obviously not going to work
twin carbies seems to be the go, and i keep the old skool sound
the bellhousing off a 2s fits ok to the w57, so i dont see any problems there
what i am worried about is the distributor, i think it will hit the firewall, is there a computer out there that does timing only ?....if so i could get away with running coil packs
anybody done this ?

Yes the dizzy will want ti hit the firewall. You can remove the rotor and rotor cap from the dizzy to combat this problem.
If you have the original ECU and were planing on using this, you still can.
You will need to coils from a 4agze or something equivalent. And then you will need to buy a DLI converter which the coils will connect to.
This is a rough explanation but yes it can be done.

Ahhh probably not. Why do you think the EFI wont work?

the angle of it is all wrong, it will hit the bonnet and look funny, ive had some bad experiences with EFI when it turns bad becuase im not a scientist it always costs more than what its worth, carbies...even a monkey could tune them

I'm putting a 3s in my TA22 abd with a custom inlet manifold there is no problem at all.

Yeah, I can't see a custom EFI inlet being any more expensive than a custom carby inlet... plus you don't have to buy a pair of Webers (expensive) and get them tuned by someone who knows what they're doing (expensive). You'd be nuts to throw the EFI away, especially if this is a street car!

ok i will clear up a few things here
i got this motor for free, a mechanic pulled it from a celica he was swapping in a new motor, so it is essentially a short motor with no accessories or efi
the plan is to use a twin screw blower, not a turbo, yes i know they are both great in their own special ways but a blower is easier to connect and look after
a mate works in an engineering shop, so inlet manifold price will be minimal
i have no idea about efi computers in general but do know they cost a lot of money and only professionals can tune them unlike the webbers which i can do myself in my back shed....if i did have the efi i would be halfway there and would consider using it, but i dont and dont wish to jump into the unknown or spend a great deal of money
i have a 2tg here thats in need of rebuilding and also the 3sge, im only in the ideas stage at the moment, i like the 3sge idea as it is a lot newer engine and makes more power

Ditch the EFI and half of the valves(quantitatively) and you will have 18RG.

3SGE + carbies = not legal from emissions point of view.
no way it can be done (legally for the street)
why not go quad throttle body, old skool class, new skool ass (aint that sooo corny:P )

Hey now we're talkin! Quad throttles are the shit.
Don't be afraid of EFI, it doesn't even have to cost mega-bucks to get tuned. Figure on $2-300 once it's all wired up and ready to go, and that's something you can easily do yourself.
