Does anyone know about this engine. All I know is that it's a 2.4L 4cycl and there's a 2TZ-FZE supercharged version. These two engines go into a previa so at least the N/A version is pretty easy to get. What I'm curious about is if it's an aluminum or an iron block and how much larger of an engine is it? I'm planning on using this to swap out my old 22RE out of my celica, I'm not really looking for serious power ( but there is always the option for the 2TZ-FZE supercharged engine), I'm mainly looking in to it as a reliable replacement. These engines should be durable since the previas are 37XXlbs vans. Before you guys start saying "go with a 3S, 1JZs, 2JZs, 7Ms, etc.," I've checked them out and right now the 2TZ-FE is the cheapest and seems pretty close to the original setup. I thank any info in advance.

Thanks. Aren't 1JZs and 2JZs iron blocks?
If I do the conversion I'm going to take out the 22RE w/tranny and maybe give to the mechanic or sell it. I'm from orange county. The tranny acts kinda funny, I have to get it close to 3k rpm before it will switch into 3rd and on the high way I have to floor it up a lil past 4K to get it to switch into 4th. This is another reason I wanted to do the swap, seems like the auot isn't in very good shape. The motor on the other hand is acutally in pretty good, just needs a valve job the engine only has 150K+ miles on it. One problem I might have with the conversion is that the exhaust manifold comes out on the left side of the 22RE and the 2TZ comes out on the right side, it doesn't look that hard to make it route to the left side from what I could see underneath.
