turbo identification and questions Mon, 19 January 2004 11:45 Go to next message
recently got a cheap turbo which i was told was in good order when taken out of the car. Now the shaft wont spin. What can possibly cause this and how can i fix it. Are they hard to pull apart. Also how do i tell what sort of turbo it is. The exhaust manifold that came with it seams to look like either a camira or early pulsar maybe and exa. On the housing if M10 and the word AIRSEARCH. does this mean anything.

The turbo is a Garrett of some description. Sounds knackered. No they aren't easy to rebuild as they have to be balanced. If you are on a budget chuck it and get another second hand one from a importers where at least you know it'll run
