I'm polishing my 18RG EFI parts myself with some "Autosol" metal polish. I'm having a bit of trouble getting some of the built up 'black stuff' off the parts. Due to the fact that there is no directions on the side of the can, how should i be polishing it? Should i wipe a lot (or a little) on to the metal, then rub off quickly?, or should i let it dry/soak in, before rubbing off?
What have u found to be the quickest/easiest/best way to polish metal?
Thanks Ben

When all else fails let it soak in, and rub away in 5-10mins

Built up black stuff should really be dealt with first with a bit of water & a scotch-brite. Infact, you'll be suprised how good it will come up with that, give it a real good once over (concentraiting on the stubborn bits) and give it a clean up with some more water, then all your hard polishing effort goes into making it shiny, instead of just clean. If it's too stubborn for scotch-brite, then use sandpaper.
