7mgte + Man Box + Auto Computer????? Tue, 20 January 2004 08:24 Go to next message
just wondering if a 7mgte with a manual gearbox can be run with the auto computer

thinkin of mixing a 7mgte with a MA61 5 speed gearbox, but i can only get my hands on the ECU for an auto 7mgte.

will this work? ive had mixed opinions about this and most conflict. just wondering if any one has tried this or heard of any one doing so

Been there done that. It's all good news my friend!

The only things you need to do wiring-wise are to disable the neutral start switch (easy, just cut join two wires together) and to connect up the reverse lights (again two wires, but the MA61 plug will be different to the one on the 7M loom so you just join the wires).

Does anyone know if it's this easy running a 1JZ A/T ECU with an R154 box ?
Doing my conversion either next week or the week after, and am just curious as to what electrical problems I will encounter.
I have the schematics for the entire car on CD, but would like to hear of any "actual" experiences people have had.

I am curious to know the outcome - there are mixed opinions as to whether it will work or not... some people say it doens't and some people say it does... but it's only people whose mates brothers sisters dogs mothers owners son have done it.

Is yours a JZZ30 as per your avatar?

Sideshow, let us know how you go with hooking up the tacho....

I've also seen the engine check light come on in ray's supra (ma61 with 7mgte and w58) when cruising at the same speeds for a while.
