4ac Ae86 owners-oil pressure readout Wed, 21 January 2004 01:33 Go to next message
hey guys
ive got a 4ac ae86 and as of late been noticing the oil pressure readout-no matter how fast i go or what gear im in the oil pressure sticks to about the 3/4 mark-and when im at a stand still and let it idle for a few minutes it lowers and stays at about the half way mark

i wanted to know if this was normal and what other 4ac ae86's were doing
thanks guys Smile

i had trouble with mine doing this,

one day it just started reading about half way at idle, and would go way up really quickly, i got paranoid and pulled the sump off, checked the relief dpring, chected all of it, then put it all back together and ignored the reading.

now my engine is making really horrible really loud knocking sounds, this is good as i am now embarking on a 4age implant.

it lasted about a year or two, if that is anything to go by, i have an idea that an oil passage was blocked somewhere, but i didnt change the oil very often (4ACs are indestructable right? Laughing )

hope this helps
