What seats fit an ae92?	Wed, 21 January 2004 02:31

I'm after some new seats to replace my stock ae92 sx seats as they are a bit worn. i have heard that the ae92 levin seats fit straight in but the later ae10x & ae11x levin/treuno seats don't. What other decent cheep seats will bolt straight in, if any? or how hard is it to modify the ae10x and ae11x rails so that they wil fit nicely? [Report message to a moderator]

the only seats that "bolt-in" are from the ae92 range. any other seats can usually be made to fit with a grinder, steel and a welder. [Report message to a moderator]

no idea on the weight of the seats, they felt about the same to me, the GTZ's may be a bit lighter... Starlet GT seats require rail mods. [Report message to a moderator]

How about passenger and drivers? Are they interchangable? I have a chance at buying a passenger's GTZ seat and was wondering if I could use it as my driver's seat?? [Report message to a moderator]

Without weighing them I'd say the GTZ seats will be a bit heavier, although there seem to be a couple of different models of them, some more loungechair-ish and others more sporty in the ones we've tried down here. The left and right rails are slightly different heights and you may end up with a lopsided seat if you use a passenger seat for the driver. Swapping the left and right rails on a seat won't work as the mounting feet are offset. All this is a precursor to saying check out the seats I have posted in the Parts for Sale forum that are out of an AE92 and the same sort of style as the GTZ seats. The material is better than the picture shows and there is a red fleck in it as well. [Updated on: Wed, 28 January 2004 13:00] [Report message to a moderator]
