im looking at a fairly quick car willing to do a conversion
not sure if to go turbo cos of insurance
datsun 1600 with a sr20de or a det
corolla ke series with 20 valve or a ze not many 2lts to choose from any susgestions
what do you think i should get

Although I'm a Toyota nut, realistically the Datto 1600 will have better handling any day but will be more costly if you go the SR20 way ...

if you're going to go the SR20, go the DET
sure the insurance will be a bit more, but they'll put out 250+kw on stock internals all day every day and never break

call up famous classic and justcars insurance and ask for quotes on your hypothetical car

what about a RS2000 escort with a 4agze or sr20det, they dont look too bad IMO

go sr20det in ke25 corolla...
A Dat 1600 in good condition will be hard to find and most likey cost a bit aswell.
SR20 is one of the strongest 2L turbo engines around. The toyota equivalent would actualy be the 3sgte not a 4agze

Im goin with the 20/25 idea aswell. 13bt/sr20det/4ag-ze (4ag-te) etc. Although i do have a soft spot for the 1600!.

yeah not sure what insurance will be like either
im thinking that a he25 with a 20valve would not be much cost for insurance maybe even a replace ment how could i find out if it would be a replacement engine
