GZ20 Brake Problem PLEASE HELP Wed, 21 January 2004 04:22 Go to next message
I have had a shuddering problem with my brakes for quite a while, and I recently replaced my front rotors the shuddering stopped for about 1 day and then it started again and the shuddering is just as bad as before, if not worse.

Has anyone else had this problem or know of it?, What could it be?, How do I fix it? it drives me insane Mad

shuddering - the brake pedal pulses and the steering wheel shakes?

i think that the hub surface that your rotor mounts on isn't flat & smooth. most disks have an extra hole or two for setup/indexing when manufactured or just for the hell of it, and these holes leave a little raised nipple of rust/corrosion on the mating surface of the hub. putting the disk on with that "bump" not in a corresponding hole forces the disk to bend when heated.

Thanks allencr, that sounds about right, I spent $700 on new rotors about 1 month ago, do you think I have permanently damaged them?, or can I just get them machined a little?
