axle lash.... Thu, 22 January 2004 03:50 Go to next message
Now, this has been a problem for quite some time, and its driving me crazy, ever since i got my brand new TRD LSD from Kristian, I specified i wanted a Zenkie 2 way, and he sent me an lsd that i assume is a Zenkie 2 way.

anyway, i put T series zenkie axles in it, and there is axle play between the splines, its been in the car and drives fine, every time i change gears it clicks and when taking off from lights u can hear the lash also.

One could assume that i was inccorectly sent a Kouki LSD instead which has the slightly larger axle splines. except for the fact i trial fitted my S series axlkes in the splins and they are a tight fit, i have tried 3 different sets of T series zenkie axles and they all have play

thats all well and good but i dont have the JDM ae86 disk rear end, hence the axles would be a large bearing type, not the small bearing type as is what i have,

all i can say is im taking it out next week, and if that lsd spline measures 25 mm's on my digital vernier calipers, i will NOT ber very happy as a certain importer who frequants this forum.

if it turns out to be 24mm zenkie type, then i'll be equally baffled as to why 3 sets of axles have been loose.

either waym none of this explains why when i trial fitted the s series axle in (zenkie type) it was tight as Peter North's cock in an anal virgin.
