mick do you have enough gas in the system mate cause if its cutting in and out then thats a good start i think you should just get it retrofitted around $200 and then its got 134a gas in itas they dont make r 12 any more only suck it out of wrecks.

my supra air con don't work either, it was made for r12, but has since had that new 134a gas put in, and has cuased it to leak.
what should i do? get a new compressor that is made to work with 134a? or would redoing all the rubber seals in my current compressor be a better idea? i hear putting 134a gas into a r12 compressor kills the rubber seals in no time.

um did you get an a/c person to retro fit the a/c if they did it properly it shouldnt hurt the seals.
y did you get it done in the first place probably leaked b4 that.
you know you should run your a/c for 5-10mins once a week, that may be why it leaked as the seals dont get lubricated so they dry up then you go to use it at the start of summer and the seals blow out.

yeah was leaking before i got the car, there was a sticker under the bonnet saying it was filled with 134a gas, and so i'm assuming it wasn't done right as it leaks.
fixing leaky aircons is expensive right? and probably above what a DIY person such as myself could manage? any advice?
