2T block / 3T crank

To save some money on my 3TG conversion (could be some time off yet), I will just buy a 3T crank, and grind the block to clear the con-rods. I have seen the result of this once before. Is there any disadvantage? Any reason to go for a 3T block? Grinding is no problem for me, as its probably less work since I won't have to change the dummy cam bearings.

essentially the blocks are the same jonny, so i don't think it would make much difference - the only thing between them is the age dude.

Well let me know how much the 3T crank is.
Im in Hobart so I guess shipping a block would be a waste, expecialy when my 2TG block will do just fine, only with a little grinding.

Well, It cost me $165 just for the balance. I had the bearing journals polished at the same time, and there are no scores in them, so I know its in good condition. What do you think about $150?
