has anyone here had personal experience with the Lukey stainless Ultra-flow glass pack muffler?
i have been reading their book at work and sounds like a decent muffler, for what i need.
in my new system i am going to run 2.5" from the dump pipe, flex pipe, 45 degree then short straight section and then the muffler. the short straight section in between the flex pipe and muffler will be flanged so i can either bolt on a glass pack resontator if it's a little loud, or my cat if i get asked 'politely' to put it on!!
one problem is our Walker supplier have no 2.5" ultra-flow's available (none interstate too they rekon), but they do have a 3" one in stock. would useing the 3" effect the performance or sound at all?
i can get cheaper Autotechnika cannon style muffler, but the lukey would have to be a better build qaulitiy?
here is a pic of what i have now. 2.5" all the way.

3" is fine is it's boosted. THE best mufflers bar none are called Blast Type R mufflers from Japan.

lukey ultra flow (aka turbo/super turbo) are the EXACT same thing as dynomax super turbo mufflers, and are damn good.
reasonably quiet, flow exceptionally well, and when you hit WOT dang they sound sweet!
personally recommended
cheers

I would recommend against the 3" system, due to the drone they create on small capacity motors. I have a mandrel bent 3" system on my 3TGTE and only run one stainless steel Dynomax Striaght Through Muffler at the rear - the drone it creates is enough to thank God for trips under one hour. i have been told while going through the rev range it sounds excellent, however from in the car it's very loud!
I have also used the Lukey glass packed mufflers on a V8 ute I have (these are aluminsed not the stainless items - but basically the same muffler), and found them very trumpety. At first I didn't like the noise, but have grown used to it, and wouldn't bother changing it. I don't feel it is a legal note, however it can be hidden by accelerator pressure. This system a twin 2.25" setup with offset glass pack mufflers, on a 5L V8.
My recommendation based on my experience is, stay with the 2.5" system, regardless of what type of muffler you use. Aside form extra noise (which I feel you also want to address), there will be now effective gain from the extra displacement of a 3" system.

i going to be useing a 2.5" system just like my system is now. i can only source a 3" Lukey muffler. so i will have to put the 3" muffler onto my 2.5" system. i have my new stainless flex pipe and a few mild steel mandrel bends here already. need to get the rest. (just dont wanna book too much up on the staff account at one time)..
i cant see this set-up beeing much if at al any louder than the crappy 'super turbo' muffler system i have now.
except this one will shoot flames... (eeep.)
