the 5spd is in! Fri, 23 January 2004 05:25 Go to next message

Got my car back at lunch, the w50 is in no noises shifts good (thanks Clint)

They recond the steering box so theres no play in the steering they also put some heat wrap around the extractors so it doesnt cook the seals and they fitted a new high pressure line from the steering box to power steering.

Its booked in to get a new carbie on monday then a new muffler on wednesday as the old one (still under warranty) rattles like a bitch.

all thats left after that is the drop tank and new carpet.

i love getting stuff for my car Very Happy

will post pics soon

im getting a new carbie because the holley i have on there now is shit its got flat spots and runs rich as the carbie guy reckons its a remanufactured holley in his words "take it off and throw it in the bin its shit"

and the 4m is hardcore Laughing

i should get around the 130 - 140 hp atw when its all in there and tuned right Evil or Very Mad

which isnt bad at all for the 27 year old 4m

but eventually it will have the 7mgte in there

is it an early or late head 4m? if its a late head pick up the efi system for prolly as much as a holly re-build or if its an early one contact giant tomato and ask about his tripple su manifold sounded much better then any holley!

Pretty sure its a late head, and I also agree with the EFI idea.

$500 Shocked

I dont think its a late head and id only go efi if i was going to go 4mte

I have pm'd GT twice about M goodies but he hasnt replied, i think i'll start a thread Evil or Very Mad

i'd love the triple carbs its just setting the suckers up if i did get em this carbie guy could do it for me.

gtman id love to go either but i dont think theres no way i can go uz unless i go rack * pinion there is no room for extractors, and all the aftermarket gear for the 2j is pretty $$$, decisions decisions Laughing

From what I recall the early heads had a round rocker cover (GT's)

and the late model heads had a square rocker cover (like your head?...)
