unfortunately it is on the same day as another event which I am already entered into. And i don't quite trust it enough to go on such a big trip.
I will be at the next one though as I will have enough time to sort out any little problems by then.

yeah i was thinking (hoping) it was the injector sticking.
Yep, gearbox feels pretty good but i have to get that crappy Dexron out of it and get some Toyota Type 4 for it. Thanks for your help.
P.S I am uploading some pics now.

hot damn!
the yellow's a brave colour ... and what a weapon
BTW - did they let you have no rear seats and seatbelts? plus did they ask about the spare tyre? (my roadworthy guy even checked the air in it so was glad i didn't put the flat&stuffed one in for show-only).

yeah doesn't the build plate specify the number of seats and hence number of seatbelts?
(but then again my pinkslip didn't pick up the fact that i am missing rear seatbelt )

what are these hi-tension wires you speak of?
It is engineered for 2 seats now and i will have the spare tyre in a can like new BMW's. If anyone noticed I currently have 15" 6 stud wheels on the back and 14" 5 stud wheels on the front will get the rears redrilled soon.
the roadworthy guy was pretty friendly as I had him swap an engine for me before so he was a little lenient, but i still had to change a fair bit of stuff.
thanks for the comments people

it is some sort of Mitsubishi 4wd diff. It was in there when i bought the car and the previous owner couldn't identify it?
yeah, i thought the plates would have been gone, but they weren't so i got them. The good thing about them is that only Toyota/import enthusiasts would have a clue what they mean

i talked to my mates at work today {i work for mits} and those diffs dont have model codes on them so i couldnt even tell u what it could be, just be known that they are a diff that tends to lock a bit, so have fun and be VERY careful in the rain, PM me if it locks up too much and i can tell u how to calm it down

thanks Phil!
Justin: I really only needed it to wire my wipers up because my auto elec couldn't do it without. So i took it to another fella and he did it in 30 minutes. Except the intermitent (spelling) is not connected. How is your project coming along?

It's 2004, not 1974!
These things run an igniter pack with coil on plug and don't have leads as such.

hehe, no wonder I hadn't heard of them.
BTW i took SIDESHOW's advice and 'jumpstarted' my injector and now it is running as smooth as it should. I am even more happy now!
Just wish the damn handbrake cable wouldn't scrap on the tail shaft when i accelerate! *soon to be fixed*

yeah the noise is bloody loud! So it is a big deterrent to accelerate hard
all running now but have to fix the scraping!
I am glad I have a fire extinguisher too after my little short circuit last night!

Great stuff, and engineered. I am impressed.
What sort of things did you have to get done for the engineering ?
What have you done for brakes ?
Cheers
