lost my licence

Well I've been stripped of my title of public enemy number one on the roads for doing between 10-15kmh over the limit. Never mind that I've never drunk driven or been done for reckless driving or been in an accident where I'm at fault.
Makes me think about selling my hachi and buying an old datto bomb that only does 60kmh!....oh the pain of public transport

It's called an extrodinary licence to get you to and from work. You must apply for it no sooner then 22 days after you've lost your licence. It cost's $105 to apply for, then you have to wait 15 days for it to go through the court of petty sessions. So even if you get it thats 37 days with no licence
Hopefully I'll get it tho

Person at work was going to loose their license for speeding but when they went to court they had a note saying that without a license they basically didnt have a job so he was let off to an extent. He was left with one point, a fine and a license.

dont you guys get the probation option?
i've been in the exact same situation...wrong place wrong time...didnt realise it was a school zone and lost my license for 61 in a 40 zone. Option for 1 point 1 yr or suspension for 3 months...i went for the suspension. I hate public transport with a passion, never on time, always crowded & fkn expensive but 3 months goes pretty quickly...i was due for opens anway so i only had to wait 3 months once i got my p's back before i went onto opens.
1 point for a year leaves you hanging on a very fine thread...sure u can say u wont speed but u dont even have to speed to loose a point...if a cop wants to be a tool and defect you then goodbye license for 6 months
imo 3 months isnt long to wait & you'll certainly enojoy it when u get your license back

I've never heard of that option but I've been on 1 point for a bout a year anyway. Now due to 2 seperate fines I'm 4 points over the limit. I've already lost my licence 3 times for speeding once again only cameras and only 10-15kmh over the limit. It's all been for 3 months. I just can't handle doing 60kmh especially at 3am after work on a Wednesday in an industrial area...plenty of kids out at that time...

So if you are in between 10-15 kmh, is it an instant loss of liscence for 3 months now?
I've only been caught speeding twice..
once was 6k.
once was 17k.. but that was like 2 years ago.
Didn't know they were cracking down so hard.

i suppose it would depend on the cop/defect...friend on mine had a silvia and decided he wanted blue parkers...well the cops didnt like as you'd expect and he was only on 1 point...got defected and lost the point
on the other hand a mate got pulled up in his rx7 and told his numberplate was bent and he didnt loose any points
just copped the fine
*shrugs*

how do you you lose a point for being defected. Here in NSW you will lose points if you have been driving a previously defected (and still defectable) car.
eg if you have been defected for bald tires but keep driving and then get pulled over again...you'll lose points

depends on the defect...minor defect you'll just cop the defect notice but if they class it as "major" you'll get the defect notice, $75 fine & loose 1 point
an example would be:
the bald tyre scenario would be minor (imo)
the blue parkers are a little worse as the car "can be mistaken for an emergency vehicle" (thats what the cop said)
depends on the cops interpretation of major/minor & if he/she is a tool or not
