sounds to me like it is BRAND NEW ie never used. 550 is actually a very very good price for that turbo.

you should ask on the nissan forums if it will fit your ca18 but chances are yes it will (common upgrade)

wahts the best price you'll take for the turbo.

i'm seriously thinking about getting it. like. real soon.

from waht i've been told from other forums and other people it will fit straight up. and if it's new then thats what i want.

I was wondering if you would take $400 + postage for the turbo. as it was going to cost me $400 + postage to get my turbo rebuilt anyway.

let me know waht you think. we can arrange a price if this isn't suitable.

thanks

if you have any pics plz send to j_large@bigpond.com

Prices for a ball bearing T25 type Garret are around $1200-1500, while the brass bearing units are up around $2800-3000, both brand new prices. This disadvantage of the ball bearing unit is every time it needs to be rebuilt you need to buy a new core (around $950 an item), so this negates it's cheap initial price and the reason second hand BB turbos aren't always the best buy!!! BB turbos also need to be rebuilt more often (usually around 60 000Km). Whoever bought it for $550 got a definate bargain!!!!

nah. thats cool.

luckly for me another guy offered his almost new t25g. only done 8000km's with full internal rebuild. + 10months warrenty. $500 + postage.

my turbo is shagged. i have no power underboost and you should see the smoke come out when i rarely decide to give it some.

heh heh, reminds me..

the other day i saw a bloke driving an almost new porsche (current shape) down Botany road (back to the big dealer there)
it was pissing smoke out the back and he was looking a little apprehensive!!! sort of like on "worlds worst drivers" when they found some guy that put diesel in the tank instead of petrol Wink

anyhoo, he was being pretty gentle with it, but it wasn't helping Very Happy

yeah. basically i'm driving my car like a NA. changing gears before 3000rpm.

just can't wait till i get a working turbo back on it. the t25g is more powerful than the t25 that was being sold on this thread and the t25 i have on my car.. it's going to be good.

and can be boosted to max 17psi.
